Shorter Cable = Easier Access

Sept 3: Kudos to the awesome folks of City Public Works! Monday, an email was sent to director Mike Moulds with an idea to shorten the cable and provide an opening for people to enter the garden without needing to jump over or go under the cable And today they did it! We got this idea when watching elderly neighbors struggle to get in the garden because they were afraid to step over and not limber enough to duck under! The support we have gotten from the city on the venture is heartwarming!

A time to plant and a time to harvest.” Today we began the process of pulling plants that had been harvested heavily to make way for some new seeds. No more peppers. The carrots are doing well now that the radishes have been harvested. We plant radishes and carrots together. The radishes grow first and fast and shade out the weeds till the slower growing carrots grow. Then when the radishes are harvested the carrots have room to grow and usually do without weeds!

Getting Dirt & Placing Raised Beds
Spring, 2016

Monday, April 27, 2015:  Planted some donated plants at the Camden Community Garden today ...thanks Provident Organic Farm! Also the notice is up of our Historical District Commission meeting May 11 for the approval of our sign and shed! Still raising money for irrigation and expect the city to run water lines this week! It is getting real!!!!

Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, 2015:

There were two work groups shoveling dirt and filling beds at the garden today: At 1 pm, Delmarva Life came to shoot footage and get an interview to air Tuesday, April 28. At 6 pm another work party met to finish the last dirt pile.

All the beds are filled! Wonderful community and Corner Church Collective engagement!

Green Award Feb 18 2016

Honored to receive this award tonight on all our behalf! it is OUR award! Together we have transformed a vacant lot into a beautiful community garden in Camden. And together we are about to do it again in Newtown-Georgetown. And hopefully in many other places in our city! Thanks for all that each of you has done to make this effort a success!

So today is a nationwide #lovethatlot day to highlight work in cities to repurpose vacant lots. We decided to use it as a way to highlight the 7 community gardens in Salisbury. City officials and garden leaders met at each garden for a photo.

The Corner Church Collective (The Restoration Project, Community of Joy, Beacon of Light, and Bethany Lutheran churches) under the leadership of The Restoration Project are actively gearing up for Summer Lunch in the Garden. Beginning June 27 - August 5, we will be engaging the children of our neighborhood in a daily activity M-F. Thanks to the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for helping us purchase the games, sports equipment as well as some pop up canopies for this program!
